Miami University Men's Glee Club at 100
The Men's Glee Club rehearses Tuesday in Laws Hall on the MU campus for its opening concert, Sunday in Millett Hall with the U.S. Army Chorus. Watch for a Sunday story highlighting some of the Glee Club's activities over the past 100 years, and click here for more info about the Glee Club and Sunday's concert. (It's free)
Director Ethan Sperry leads the Men's Glee Club on Tuesday, with accompanist Andrew Crist of Zanesville at the piano, as they work on "In Taberna" from "Carmina Burana." One of the "insider" things I learned: they snap fingers to applaud. Pretty funny when 100 guys are doing it. Note faculty member Jack Keegan, 55, in one of these photos, a member of 30 years.

Thank you so much for noticing the hard work of club. I myself am a third generation attendee of Miami University ('91) and was preceeded in club membership by two uncles. Joining club was one of the best decisions I ever made in college. Your blog and forthcoming article really help our popularity...thanks again!

Janelle,
Congratulations on discovering a group that any member already knows is one of Ohio's treasures. I look forward to reading your article on the subject.

Hey, MU Glee Club alumni, thanks for writing! Watch for a much bigger article in the next Miamian, as well. I really enjoyed visiting the rehearsal, and was very impressed with them!
Janelle,
Thanks for the great coverage of one of the best music organization s on the campus of Miami University. As an aside note, some current members of the club come from Winton Woods High and were members of the WWHS choir making the trip to China in the spring. That might make for an interesting local story since tradition for music excellence is part of both organizations!
