At least someone took the initiative in this sad story. Unfortunately, a 6.5% cut in pay doesn't get the CSO much closer to staying alive. Add to it the loss of $260K from other local organizations, and it looks bleak.
I've have heard that the musicians may try to form their own orchestra if the CSO folds.
Perhaps that's the way forward.
Living in Columbus, this issue doesn't seem to be making as much news as it is in Cincinnati and New York.I'm disappointed in the local community more than I can express here.
We're considering relocating to Cincinnati or Cleveland in disgust.
