Interesting factoid about the listening public
On the same wavelength, I received an interesting survey in my e-mail box today from RRadio Network. It seems that most of you listen to radio on the Internet. They asked:
"What do you listen to most?"
December 2005
Internet Radio 57.3%
Broadcast Radio 25.1
Portable MP3 Player 8.5
Satellite Radio 3.2
Cable Music Channels 0.9
Other 4.2
It's kind of interesting that between March and December, Broadcast radio listening actually went up, and iPod and Satellite Radio listening went down...
How do you listen? Let me know ... and have a Happy Holiday!

I listen to satellite radio 8 hours a day at the office, and 2 1/2 to 3 hours a day during my 60 mile commute. XM's three classical stations (one all vocal) keep me interested and learning about new pieces every day.
It keeps me sane. Commercial and public radio has become so "dumbed down" that it was driving me crazy.
I agree; I, too, am hooked on XM radio that I got with my new car a few months ago. I find myself flipping from the three classical stations to three jazz stations, and over to WGUC just see what they are doing! Frankly, I usually know a classical piece on public radio from the first few notes these days. I enjoy discovering new pieces on XM.
But here's one problem with XM: They don't have playlists on their Web site. So unless you have a host (which many shows don't have) you can't find out who the performers are. So WGUC wins in that regard.
