CCM dean Douglas Lowry resigns
Wow, coming off a big weekend at the May Festival, this news greeted me this morning. CCM, currently in a search for a new head of the opera department, is now going to be hunting for a new dean, too.
What do you make of all this?

Well, not shocking.... Lowry's been looking for a new job since the day he unpacked his cardboard box in his new office at CCM. Remember him interviewing at USC about a week after he got here??
(exaggerating, but not much...)
CCM deserves so much better.
I said at the time he interviewed at USC--show him the door---NOW. CCM deserves someone who WANTS to be here...
Lowry has just kept a seat warm for 7 years--except when he was out looking for work...
And please, don't interview Nic M. for the job. Begging.....
I wish the Dean Lowry nothing but the best. His appointment to prestigious Eastman is a testimony to his talents.
I would get out of Cincinnati too at the first opportunity!
Well, then, get out.
No one is forcing you to stay here...
People who live where they don't want to live, then mock those of us who love the city, well, these folks are just really small...
